Judy and Billy are the sweetest couple and their day was so relaxed and fun to photograph! They had their ceremony at the DoubleTree in the rose garden on a perfect day in May!

One-Room School House
May 9, 2010Yesterday, I had the privilege of photographing this authentically restored one-room school house. In September, I will be photographing a wedding here, and yesterday I was invited to the ranch to photograph the couple’s Engagement Session and familiarize myself with this historical building. I couldn’t help grabbing a few shots of the interior details (which will be mostly cleared out for the wedding). My dad grew up in South Dakota and attended a one-room school house during grade school, so it was fun to see this place and think of him in a similar room as a child.

Cassandra and Aaron Wedding 9-18-09
October 29, 2009Cassandra and Aaron are such a sweet couple! We spent over an hour going all over town with them taking pictures in different locations around the area and their could not stop giggling and talking to one another the entire time! It’s great to see how happy they are and how much fun they have together. Aaron, a Youth Pastor is has dedicated his life the the church and Cassandra is now taking the roll as his support system. I think they plan on having babies very soon and will make excellent, fun, loving parents! The ceremony was indoors, but not until almost dark, so we did most of the portraits of the family and the bridal party before hand.
Cassandra is one of the most gorgeous brides I have ever photographed. She is young but has such a mature beauty, and beyond her physical, she has the sweetest spirit. Such a shining light!

This couple represented a true testament to love and the strong bond of family and friendship! Right before the ceremony began, the minister’s wife whispered in my ear that Bihn had come from Vietnam to the US as a baby with her refugee parents and their church has been her family’s sponsors. Through the years the families lost touch as they moved across the country but then Binh called up one day and asked if this woman’s husband, the minister at the church that had sponsored her family, would marry her.
The ceremony brought tears to my eyes. I’ve also never seen so many digital cameras and iPhones taking photos and videos all at once, as I did during this wedding ceremony!
Binh and Norm are truly a beautiful couple with so much heart. It was an honor to photograph their special day.
